Welcome |
St John’s, Malone is an Anglican Parish situated in the heart of south Belfast. The Church is in a prominent position on the Malone Road, equidistant from its junctions with the Stranmillis Road and Balmoral Avenue. Visitors are always welcome to our services which are listed elsewhere on this website. Central to our worship is the 10.00 a.m. Sung Eucharist which is held every Sunday, except the 1st Sunday of the month when it is at 11.45 a.m. The 10.00 a.m. service that day is a short all-age service geared mainly at our younger members. Communicant members of all Christian Churches are invited to receive holy communion. At St John’s we are eager to involve young people in our services, both in the traditional liturgy and in the quarterly youth services that are designed to allow greater freedom of expression in worship. The tradition of St John’s is for a carefully prepared and dignified act of worship, integrating music and liturgy, and seeking to respond to changes in liturgical development, as well as those that mark the flow of the Christian Year. A prayerful quiet before the service is encouraged. Coffee and chat is also encouraged in the Church Hall after the 10.00 a.m. service! Those who are new to the area or who wish to join St John’s for any reason will be most welcome. Visitors too will leave our Church with our blessing, and good wishes for a speedy return. Above all, we would like to feel that St John’s is a house of prayer where all may come and find God’s presence, and a fellowship of Christian people who are seeking to spread the message of Christ’s unconditional love, in a world of broken hopes and damaged lives. |
