Services
All services use the Book of Common Prayer 2004. Those according to Order 2 are in Contemporary language, whereas those to Order 1 are in traditional language
The Worship at St John’s centres on the Eucharist, the normal pattern of worship being as follows:

8.00 – 8.30 a.m. |
Holy Communion (Order 2 on the 1st , 2nd , 4th , 5th Sundays;
Order 1
on the 3rd Sunday of the month). |

10.00 – 11.15 a.m. |
Sung Eucharist ( Order 2.) every Sunday, except
the 1st Sunday of the month, when
the 10.00 a.m. service usually takes the form of an
all-age service of the Word (This
service lasts 40 minutes). |

11.45 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. |
Matins (Order 1) every Sunday, except the 1st Sunday of the month when the service is Sung Eucharist ( Order 1 ). This
service lasts about one hour. |

6.30 – 6.50 p.m. |
Evening Prayer ( Order 2 ) (said in the side chapel), except on the 4th Sunday of the month when there is full choral evensong ( Order 1 ). This
service lasts for one hour. |

Celebrations on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday are held at 10 a.m.
Services for special occasions; Confirmation, Remembrance Sunday, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week and Christmas will be as announced
