Sunday School

This year, as a result of Covid 19, the Sunday School was unable to meet each week in the Church Hall.

However, it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the young folk, who with the help of leaders and parents produced a number of digital items for Christmas, Lent and Easter which were included in the online weekly services.

To end what has been a very unusual year, 8 families met for a Sunday School picnic in Strangford Playing Fields on Sunday 20th June after the Confirmation service.

It started with an exciting game of rounders, followed by Valerie’s scavenger hunt, then some football and ‘shootie in’, which was especially enjoyed by Nick and Norman, before everyone collapsed on rugs and deck chairs to eat delicious picnics.

All Sunday School members were presented with gifts of books before we said a big Thank You and Farewell to Nick Clarke and his family as they move to live in Limerick. As the only male leader in Sunday School Nick will be greatly missed for his cheery approach and calm manner.

Lexie and Alexandra organised an obstacle course for the younger children and then a very competitive skipping competition brought the successful Picnic to an end.

Hopefully we will all be able to meet again in St John’s in September, when there will be a vacancy on our rota. Any Dads Available?
