Armistice Day is commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the Armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front at the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918. During World War II it became known as Remembrance Day. The Centenary of this event was Sunday 11 November 2018. Each year in St John's members of the parish who participated in the two wars are remembered.

After the Service an Acer tree was planted beside the garden of Remembrance which would shed red leaves each November. The children planted bulbs around the tree.
