Eight members of St John's Men's Society with wives joined 30 others from Ballyholme, Ballymore (Tandragee) Carnmoney, Cregagh, Eglantine and Holywood on the CIMS Outing to Derry and the Doagh Famine Village.

We travelled from Belfast to Derry by train for Derry. A coach then brought us to Christ Church where Archdeacon Robert Millar celebrated a Service of Holy Communion assisted by the Revd Katie McAteer.

After a cup of tea or coffee our coach brought us to the Doagh Famine Village where we had soup and sandwiches before having a guided tour of the village.

Our coach brought us back to Derry to Brown's restaurant on Bond's Hill where we had an excellent meal before walking across to the train station to await our return train to Belfast.

Everyone enjoyed their day out and the weather had been dry but overcast with sunny intervals.
