CIMS Annual Service in St Mark's, Newtownards on Sunday 22 Nov 2009

The CIMS Annual Service this year was in the beautifully restored St Mark’s, Newtownards with its new Parish Centre.

In his address the Revd Canon Ken Smyth spoke about changes in Europe over the last 20 years where previously divided communities have come together and freedom of movement has made Ireland multicultural.

He said that the Church and CIMS must learn to make use of the opportunities which change provides. We may not be able to attract the young but we can provide a forum for discussion and the challenging of views held. We are called to work for spiritual change in a developing world.
