Stand Up Against Poverty

On Sunday 15 October 2006 the congregation in St John's STOOD UP AGAINST POVERTY and turned round to be photographed as part of an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of Records. The successful attempt was achieved by  23,542,614 participants in 11,646 events around the globe who stood up during the 24 hour period

Six years ago, 189 world leaders sat down and agreed to end poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. On 15 & 16 October, over 23 million people across the world stood up to remind them of this promise.
